Dell PowerEdge R630

The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rackmount server which can come in a dual or single processor configuration. In a dual processor configuration, it can address up to 1536GB (64GB X 24) of DDR4 RDIMMs with a max frequency of 2400 MHz. In triple channel configuration, the maximum is reduced to 1866 MHz. The R630 can address up to 3072GB (128GB X 24) of DDR4 LRDIMMs with a maximum frequency of 2400 MHz. In triple channel configuration, the maximum frequency is reduced to 2133MHz. In a single processor configuration for both RDIMMs and LRDIMMs the only difference is the maximum capacity is halved.

The processors that this system support includes all of the E5-2600 v3 and E5-2600 v4 series but in order to support the V4 series the system must come installed or be flashed with BIOS Revision 2.0 or newer. The R630 can be equipped with up to 24 1.8" drives or 10 2.5" drives.

The R630 can be equipped with up to 2 redundant 495W to 1100W power supplies. In a configuration with 2 E5-2650 v3 processors, 24 8GB DDR4 RDIMMs, dual 300GB 15K drives and redundant 750W power supplies you can expect idle power consumption to be roughly 150 watts. This will cost roughly $131.4 for a full year of idling. At full load you can expect power consumption of roughly 351 watts. It would cost roughly $307.476 to run the system at full load continuously for a year.
